About [PUBLICATION NAME]
[PUBLICATION NAME] is an independent publication covering the digital-workplace ecosystem around IHG Merlin.
Merlin sits inside a larger environment that also includes Network IDs, MyID, MyHR, IHG One Rewards, employee travel programs, hotel operational systems, procurement tools, internal career workflows, and learning resources.
Treating all of those systems as “the IHG employee portal” creates more confusion than it resolves.
Our editorial goal is to separate them.
What We Cover
We research questions such as:
- what Merlin is;
- how Network IDs are issued;
- who starts a new-hire account request;
- how MyID differs from Merlin itself;
- why MyHR access can differ from Merlin access;
- how employee room benefits connect to One Rewards;
- what IHG One Pass changed;
- how franchise and managed hotel relationships differ;
- how locked, disabled, and unprovisioned accounts differ;
- how hotel-facing resources such as IHG Procurement fit into the environment.
How We Research
We prioritize first-party IHG material.
That includes current:
- IHG Hotels & Resorts pages;
- IHG Careers resources;
- IHG Merlin and Network Account Support pages;
- IHG Procurement resources;
- IHG corporate reports;
- IHG One Pass and Employee Room Benefit documentation.
For corporate structure, IHG’s Annual Report and Form 20-F is especially useful because it distinguishes franchised, managed, and owned/leased operations and explicitly explains that franchise-hotel colleagues are not employees of IHG.
We also distinguish current documentation from old search-result copies. Account procedures and employee travel programs change, so an old Merlin tutorial is not automatically treated as current simply because its URL still exists.
Why This Site Is Independent
The search market around branded employee systems contains many third-party pages that resemble login destinations.
[PUBLICATION NAME] takes the opposite approach.
We explain the system but do not collect the credentials.
We do not reset Merlin accounts, validate colleague employment, activate One Pass benefits, create Network IDs, or provide hotel-system access.
For account-specific work, use the current IHG destination or the manager, hotel IT administrator, corporate contact, or support path assigned to your role.
